This can be a difficult question that is typically asked in the midst of a trial. It's a question asked out of hunger and a need for God at a diffucilt time. How do we answer it? God himself gives us the answer in His Word.
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:1-2 ESV God will never leave you! The question we have to ask ourselves is do we come to God with the heart of an orphan or the heart of a son? An orphan feels alone and hopeless but a son knows that his father will provide no matter what. You are not an orphan! You have a father and He wants to meet your needs and speak to your deepest places. He gives us grace. Grace inside the furnace is transformational. We will go through things but realize that even as we are going through the fire, we can be confident that God never leaves our side. Join us this Sunday at 1 pm for Palm Sunday as we explore the next question, What about suffering??? Bring a friend and share the hope! Listen to the podcast:
