Light Chasers- Part 1 PRIDE

At UPC, we want to see people effected by God's light. Part 1 of the new series, "Light Chasers," brought up some some big questions that affect our walk with God. What are we chasing after? And are we in the place we need to be to reflect God's light and bring it to dark places? There are 3 Things that can keep the light from penetrating our soul and one is: PRIDE.
Pride blocks the source of the light {Jesus}.
​It is a preoccupation with our own importance and prevents us from exercising the great commandment - To love God, love people, and love yourself.

This is what the LORD says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches.” Jeremiah 9:23 NLT

How can you tell if you are dealing with Pride? 1) You have a critical spirit 2) Self-deception and 3) You are always comparing yourself to others.
We can't let the devil get us to be critical of others, or keep us so preoccupied with comparing ourselves with others that there is no time to compare ourselves to Jesus.
Pride puts the creature above the creator when in reality, everything we have is because of God's goodness.
Let Jesus reflect his light on you! He wants to use you to bring light to others.
