As the presidential elections draw near, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant flood of information, campaign ads, and political mail. We’re bombarded with opinions from every side, each one claiming to hold the key to our nation’s future. In times like these, how can we, as followers of Christ, remain grounded and faithful? I believe Micah 6:1-8 offers us the clarity and wisdom we need.
Micah 6 begins with a courtroom-like setting, where God brings a case against His people. The prophet challenges them (and us) to consider what God truly requires: not grand sacrifices, not flashy gestures, but a life rooted in justice, kindness, and humility before God. It invites us to reflect on how we engage with politics—not just who we vote for, but how we carry ourselves as representatives of Christ. Here are three ways Micah 6:1-8 can guide us:
As we prepare for this election, let’s stand firmly on the foundation of Micah 6:1-8. Let’s be people who act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, no matter how chaotic the world around us becomes. Our faith should shape our politics—not the other way around. In Christ, Temo Rios
